I would run that motor on 7s for a sport setup. And 8s for some fast runs. Just use the data log, run you a few time on 7s. And run a few times on 8s. I think it will be ok on 8s.

No problem, with that 4082 on 7 or 8s. You will probably be able to run up in the 50mm size props. Just start out small and work your way up

I agree. 1160kv on 6S will be too slow for you. Safe, but slow. I have a Leopard 1400kv on 6S with a S180 ESC and it's plenty fast. Don't have logged speeds yet, but the grin-factor is enough!

Thats going to be pretty slow dude. That tp power motor is very powerful especially in that hull you could prop up a lot but believe me a big low kv motor with a large prop to compensate can lead to weird handling. Small prop spinning fast works a lot better. I agree with above poster that leopard probably burnt up bc of the big prop. I've seen 2200kv 6s twin 4082s and they run fine.

That is way I like the idea of a 36mm 1400kv can in that hull,
And it will have plenty of power with out the bad handling problem to add to the mix.

Theirs a big difference re what rpm & prop sizes you can get away with when using twin motors compared with a single motor.

Motor came In today! Tp 4082 1160kv with 8s on the x646...got 54.2mph...motor temp was about 117... battery's were 120... Esc was 105... Very tempted to run a bit bigger prop possibly x648... Still need to hook it up to the comp and see what that says...any suggestions?

I really want to see a pic of the fit under the sub-hatch of that 4082 monster. Must be extremely tight... The two 4S lipos in there is probably also a tight squeeze. Pics please!
An X648 prop is huge for this hull, dude. Could work, but pe prepared for weird handling and higher temps.

Pics coming soon! Actually I ran 2-3s on the battery trays which I customized... and a 2s up in front of the motor...actually the motor fits nice! I cut the sides on the platform where the esc and servo sits...the hull is completely reinforced with epoxy. The thing is a tank!

Seems a bit slow for what you're running
