Going to build a df33

I want to build a df33 I have a motor and esc already planned out just want to know if it will work out good.
motor is a leopard 4092 1730 3D on 6s and fc240 2-8s on 6s would that work or is it too much ? I am a complete newb at building so please excuse my newbness

Way too much IMO. That motor on 4s would be okay. 6s is a bit much for a boat that size. You would be building a torpedo.

For me I would shoot for the low 2000kv range on 4s. Opinions will vary of course.

Whay motor would be good for 6s ? Is the 4092 too big ?

It's not as much the size as it is the KV. My 6s Q sport hydro that I race is only 1250kv. That's in a 37" purpose built free running hydroplane.

You could put Q (6S) power in that hull but for me.......it's not enough boat to support it. If I were looking to go 6s I would opt for maybe the 39" Delta and then find around a 1250 kv motor.

For a 33" Delta I would find a nice 4s setup.

I keep saying this but opinions will vary. I'm sure somebody is running 1730kv on 6s but at those rpm's everything has to be just right or carnage ensues.

No vid yet the first run it made it about 20 feet and the flex went to the bottom I think I got a bad collet it just will not tighten up on the flex got another in the mail will have video soon

That looks like a sweet setup going to do the same thing but w/o the rail what brand are the trim tabs,rudder,strut ?

Got all the hardware from kintec and it All works great I used a .187 flex in mine just thought it would be best with the 4092 torque can't wait to see your build I will be watching for it good luck

Wait, not trying to sound like weiner but you said you run it on 5s and 6s and it works great but it only ran 20ft on the first run?

Like I said, opinions will vary.
