    genesis advise

Hello all I have a Genesis 37 scratch built, it has Leo 1050kv and will be running on 8s, with swordfish 240 hv, my question is what the best prop would be 2 blade 3blade 440 450 645
If someone would give me a little advice, I will ultimately want it to go fast so may change motor to 1450kv many thanks

Thats pretty low kv even on 8s. You can run an x447 without an issue. I would get an x445, x447, don't go any higher until you've checked temps.

If you're after a lot of speed I would go with a leopard 4082 1400kv motor. It will run pretty cool, you have a nice robust esc and it can take it. You're running a pretty serious setup so make sure to keep an eye on temperatures. How are your batteries, like what C rating?

Batteries are 5000 60 c overlanders, , so with 1400kv what do you think speed wise running with say m447 or x447 or? thanks for your input

70s for sure. I would go 1400kv, but it seems a lot of people have run the 1600kv 4082. I always stay on the conservative side with my setups I'm sure the 1600kv will be fine on 8s but you'll be pushing the motor bearings and everything harder. 1600 will give you more speed, always a trade off though.

a swordfish 240 in a genesis , is a waste of money. The T180 is like $70 with postage and would have been fine if you stick with 6 S instead. if your doing 8S, is it two 4S in series?

Not a waste of money if you're running 8s. Maybe the OP has an esc laying around, plus he wants more than 55mph. The t180 is an awesome esc someone ran it on 7s awhile ago lol, genesis run correctly on 8-9s with 1400-1600kv motor gives something very impressive

With the higher voltage (10 S) you can use a smaller HV ESC, something like this would be just fine ...

                    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...-seaking-130HV

I am using a 300 HV ESC but the motor is a Neu 2230/1Y.

Woah a 300esc is a lot for this application. Plus its freaking huge and will take up a lot of room in the boat. No need to go that big.

                        There ya go http://www.keithbradleyboats.com/?wp...sh-8s-200a-esc

Buy one of those, run 8s with a 1400 or 1600kv motor. You'll go fast. Keith is great btw and this is a new esc, hifei stuff performs well

I just put this ESC in a 37'' Fightercat Shocker with a Sirius 1717 to run on 8s. Won't be able to test it until the water thaws though.
