Old School comparison - 700bb vs Astro Cobalt 25 Marine

    Hi,

I have a question for the older members in the forum since this gear dates make before the times of brushless!

How would an Astroflight Cobalt 25 Marine 8 turn compare against a 700bb (on 4s Lipo).

Note i am not sure which 700 it is. It is a plain unmarked silver / chrome can 700. I dont think it is a Cordite or SC (no stickers). It may be a Neo..?

Would the Astro perform better than the 700?

Not sure on the 8 turn but the 5 turns were certainly better than the 700's

We thought so too, but several years ago a club member replaced his 700SC with an almost new Astro 25-5T. The boat was actually slightly slower with the Astro. It was an LSH hull.

We tested 700's in 1/10th scale hydros vs the astro 25/5 and the 700's were clearly slower not by a huge amount though.

          Thanks guys,

If the 5 turn was only marginally quicker, then I suspect the 8 turn would be at best equal?

          Cheers
