I may be able to help you. I have a Atlas Van Lines 40 nitro boat and converted it to electric. It had a sub surface flex drive. The boat is now a 10th scale boat with a wire drive. I'm using an Octura strut and mounting bracket. It is not a sub surface strut. I mounted the bracket inside of the boat with the strut going through the bottom of the hull. The setup allows me to make slight angle and depth adjustments of the strut.

I will take some pictures and display them. The boat is beautiful. Is it a scratch built or a kit?

The nitro scale and sport hydro rules requires you to run the strut under the hull, Just simply mount the strut on the inside facing of the bull bottom. Cut a slot to slide the strut through. This allows adjustment of trim and height. Tape it up on the inside until you get the right adjust ment then seal with silicone
