    Question about twin build

Hey guys I need some input. First time doing a twin. I'm using 2 turnigy 180 speed controls that I've had from older boats. I got a y splitter so I can connect both esc to the receiver But when I press the gas one motor spins b4 the second one. Both esc are programmed the same way.i use 4aa battery's for te servo but when the esc is connected to the receiver for some reason the AA battery's r not being used even if I shut off the receiver with the switch the boat still has power.

The escs each have a BEC and that is giving power to the receiver. You should disable the BEC for both escs by pulling the red wire out of your y cable. Also with one motor starting to run before the other one, reprogram your escs one right after the other setting the full throttle/neutral. Chances are the trim was turned up a bit. These chinese escs are sometimes a bit more difficult to get to run in sync. It can be done so they're extremely close just will take a couple of tries.

Ok thx for the response. The only way I have programmed these esc is with the program card there is 4 diff options. I'm not sure I know what u mean by the throttle/neutral position. I'm sure that is the problem I'm having. How is that done? Also should I leave the low voltage cut of on or disabled? Thx. Do u think I can program them together with the y cable and the program card or does it have to be separate?

If you had two people you could program the escs together. Otherwise you would have to have really fast hands and connect one battery then the next in order to power up both escs. To set the seaking 180 you must pull the throttle on the TQ to full open then it will make some noise and after a sequence of beeps you release to neutral and let the esc do its thing till the music is over. I would put the low voltage up to the max of 3.4v. I never run my packs below 3.7 volts. Whenever you put the pack on the charger you should see 3.7v per cell minimum for cell life.

Follow step #2 "Throttle Range Setting". Both ESC's can be done at the same time.

              http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...X302102X29.pdf

Note that you must turn on the TX first, & then pull full throttle before turning on the ESC's.

If you are using a seperate battery pack for the RX pull the red wire out of the Y extension to disable the BEC's in the
              esc's first.

Also make sure that the throttle trim is in neutral first.

Read the instructions carefully & you will be fine.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Oh and have you thought about running a Life 2s 6.6volt receiver pack? Your servo will be stronger, more responsive, plus you just won't have to worry about a battery popping out of the 4AA cell holder your using. I think you can get a hyperion one in the OSE store for 15 bucks.
