On my "Miss Behavin'" build I was looking at automotive paint to get the colour that I wanted, they are all waterbase here in British Columbia. They said I would have to paint, mask, paint, over the course of a few hours as multiple colours will only stick to one another while tacky.Once the WB is cured it is cured and does not adhere well. This was a paint curve I was not ready for.I usually have to leave the paint process for a few days at a time so I stuck with my oil base paint.

Yeah it's the one downfall to waterborne is if you don't do it all in a certain window it needs to be sanded or scuffed for adhesion, and sanding color coat is the absolute worst thing you can do to it. It ruins the color, especially if it's metallic. All those sand scratches are magnified by the clear

There are no time windows when working with Auto Air ColorsTM. Additional coats may be applied at any time once the underlying coat has dried. Additional coats may be done within minutes of the last coat or several days may pass before the next coat is applied without the need to sand or scuff."" that is a quote right from the spec sheet of auto air colors.
That is the main reason why I decided to go with waterborne paint, and the ease of clean up. Shawn I too don't have the time to devote to a paint job from start to finish.
Heavin earth, no need to scuff either.
