    Powering 55in cat

I need some help deciding on power options.

I am looking to power a cat in the 55in range. Think HPR 135...

Let me give a little run down of what I would like to do.
I would like a setup that I can run on 10s for saw runs, I would like to see speeds in the 90mph range. I would also like to be able to run in the min 60's on a higher capacity 6s setup for longer run times and just messing around.
I think I have decided on dual castle 200HV ICE esc's. I am really undecided on motors. LMT's would be awesome but $$$$$$$$. Same problem with nue motors.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

2230 or lehner's, high rpm machines.

Forget any of the 30,000 rpm rated motors.

Good luck finding an HPR hull - he is out of business. As for motors, for a SAW application you will want an on-the-water rpm of 38,000-42,000. On 10S that is a motor with a Kv of around 1200-1300. This range is good for a 6S sport boat too. Minimum 40x92mm sized motors although ~56mm diameter may be better. Get the best you can afford; that is a large boat to be pushing that fast on just 10S. High rpm is tough on cheap motors. I have one TP motor which has worked well for me on 4S - most others who have tried the TPs like them, but I have no idea how they'd work in a SAW application. The HV Castle ESCs should work fine as long as you keep them dry.

        Thanks for the input,
I'm not set on an hpr, and MHZ would work as well. Or something like that.

The more I think about the the more it seems I'm going to end up going with more expensive motors. I would be willing to give the cheaper motors a shot my worry is that all to often when they let go they seems to take the esc and battery with them. I'm just having a hard time justifying 2 500 to $700 motors.

Has anyone tried the leopard 5698 motors or that proteus motor that ose is selling?

Are you running just one motor on that boat or 2?

10S2P for 10,000mAh total capacity....run time at around 3:30 with about 20% left in the packs.

I believe both of those are in the 30,000 rpm motor class mentioned previously.

I think Jay explained the requirements quite clearly.Harry

I too have 813 KV motors that pushes past 60 mph on 9s. (in a 33.5 lb, 60" Offshore style Cat )

O.P. stated 90 mph .........my hull & motor & cells combo can't do that .....
