I am just getting back into FE from Gas. I have a 43" Challenger build going and I just purchased a Fighter Cat Cheetah to build. Since the Cheetah is a blank slate, I will be doing it to honor the non-profit I run and use our logo as the race theme. I am having trouble picking hardware for it. It will be a single build, but I would like to try to keep it scale looking with the drive/rudder. Anyone have any hardware they can recommend that fits this bill??

Keep in mind that making something look scale may sacrifice the performance. With Rc boating, what works on a large scale doesn't exactly work when scaled down to our modelsComment

Have a look at arrow shark. Not sure how these would work on a cat hull tho

The scale hydro guys do that. Requires a regular strut and a slit in the tunnel and mounting the bracket inside the hull."Look good doin' it"

How do they seal it?
Actually those who have tried this in FE - and there have been quite a few in 1/8 scale - usually seal with silicone caulk. Some have built a sealed 'wet well' so water inside doesn't matter - kinda hard to do that in a cat with the deck overhang. Silicone is probably the best bet, but expect to get a little water inside during initial setup/testing. A prop under the overhang will generate some lift in the hull, that may help to keep the bow down.

Gas racers don't bother, who cares if they get a quart of water in the hull when racing?
