I've started building, or better converting my 1st Tunnel hull with brushless outboard.
Regarding the outboard unit and mounting bracket, I was wondering if I could apply the following technique for angle adjustment: keep only the top swivel point, and make a adjustable stop on the bottom against the transom with a sort-of setscrew adjustment to set the angle.
In other words, the unit could swing back freely, but fwd it would 'hit' against a point on transom that is adjustable forward or backwards.
Now thinking ahead;
I could imagine it needs some friction on the top swivel point to prevent the unit from swinging back (due to drag) every time you lift the throttle on high speed, and then in turn slam fwd again when opening the throttle. In other words I want to prevent the transom getting 'booted in the bum' during turns.
Thinking about this because
1) It would prevent damage to drive if you hit something
2) The pond where I usually play dries out in summer, and it's very shallow quite far from shore. Ok to toss it in, but retrieval is tricky to say the least.
Something like that do-able? any experiences?
Thanks in advance
