    Looking for some 4/40 stainless steel blind nuts anyone ever seen any?

                    The nutty.com lists some in ss but not that size listed,but says different sizes available,contact for info. I've seen ss ones,but not the pronged type ur looking for.

                        Why do you need stainless out of curiosity. Don't these go inside the boat? I know water gets in sometimes but do you really need stainless. Have you had problems with rust and corrosion in non stainless versions?

                          I am reworking a mystic 29. The ones on the wooden backing plate at the transom were rusty and the wood was falling apart so I am replacing all this and reinforcing the transom. If I can't find SS then I will have to use the zinc coated ones or I may make a backing plate out of 1/8 alum and glue that in and just thrubolt the strut bracket

                            I think SS is alot more expensive to make and sell. JMO, tho.
                            No matter what you use, Jim, after you are done with reconditioning, that boat is going to be great, I will be watching in the future in the F/S section,
                            Too many boats, not enough time...
