    Power Supply Question

Considering to purchase a couple of the Sky RC eFuel 1200 watt Power Supply units.

Any feedback from existing users would be appreciated. Also the unit is 15-24 volts. I guess 15 volts is OK for our 12 volt chargers??

    Thanks - Doug

Guys, The absolute best P/S you can buy is a computer Server power supply!!
They are bullet proof because they have to be for server farms for 24/7 service, and they have Power Correction Factor which allows you to run them on a generator.
They are replaced on a regular schedule and are available used and tested cheaply.
      I bought 3 - 12v 55 amp units for $45 shipped 3 years ago and they haven't missed a beat.
Go to rcgroups under Battery's and Chargers and look for power supply's.

I'm with Jim. I purchased a couple of Dell 47 amp power supplys from ebay for for under $20 shipped. Very easy to convert. You dont even have to open the unit up unless you want to remove the retaining latch and pull handle. I can charge four 4S 5000 mah packs at 1C with two Hyperion Duo's on one unit without breaking a sweat.

I did a Google search on the power supply you are interested in and the only ones I saw were 220 volt input. Don't know if you noticed that.

Same unit I am using. Nice and compact.

Built your own or purchase one. At $55, a very resonable price considering the power output and reliability.

The unit referenced is for sale on the OSE site plus on some other RC sites. The specs says either 110 or 220 input. I have a couple 45 amp bulldogs already. I have some insurance money to spend and thought I may be able to upgrade to a lighter weight and more condenced unit for shipping and traveling.

The 45 amp unit is not enough on its own when I cycle my cells using 4 chargers doing 8 4S 5000 cells. I'll be hooking up my other bulldog next time.

Tony - Looking forward to some warm weather racing. Not sure on Thursday night. Sean flys in around 8:30. I could be a good friend and pick him up at the airport or decide to eat and drink and make him take a cab. Humm - tough decision!

              Later - Doug
