    Anybody use a Flier esc?

Flier-hot-selling-Brushless-HV-ESC-motor-300A-ESC-For-Boat.jpg I found a 300A Flier esc for $200. Are they any good?

They are supposed to be the same esc's that fightercatracing use to sell. A lot of people like them and say they perform good.

They work very well. They are the ones that Ben
helped develop. I tested alot of them for him as well as a few others here on the forum.

They need to be programed prior to being used and the best thing to do is get
the programming box right away. takes about 15-20 sec to program once hooked up.

I also have the programming box instructions in English, German and Italian if needed.
I sent a copy to Fliermodel but not sure if they are sending them out or not.

yes, they are a good ESC.

Delta wind motors set the timing no great than 5 degrees.
Wye (Y) wind motors, set the timing no greater than 10 to 15 Degrees MAXIMUM.

as with ANY esc, please watch your amp draw and always start SMALLER with your prop selection, check current
draw, then increase prop size in small steps.

SAME goes for the Timing selection. start a bit lower than normal then work up a degree at a time the the esc.

Aliexpress is where you purchase the ESC's from.

thanks carlcisneros =) the tp 5692 6d 1420kv 10000w has a draw around 285a max at 35v whit thinking to juse 8s. 33,3 fully charged, so the flier 300a 400 peak thinking would be good i hope. its gonna be twin also so less stress for each motor, thinking 50/3 blade props, 1.8 p. to start ? its going in a 50" p1 hull , never heard about these esc"s and it for a nice price to. compare to others branded big ones.

With that KV set up USE 447 2 blade props to start off with.

I run 1400KV motors and use X445 or X447 2blade props depending on the weather conditions. (calm or windy)

the 50/3 blade props will put a big load on the ESC with the motor KV you are going to use.

with that motor, set the timing at 3 degrees.
Run an external cap bank on each ESC as well.
                  Flier model offer one.

And that is also 47,286 rpm with no load using 8S power. TOO HIGH in my opinion.
I would use 6S for power. That will give you 35,784 rpm with no load.
That will give the set up a much easier life to live in and last a good long time.
I have been using the 6S 1400KV set up (twin powered) in my Mono going on
3 years now and the only thing I have replaced thus far are motor bearings.
That is the Orange boat in my avatar you see.

I hope this helps you out.

I agree with Carl here. I have 1400kv motors in a 38" cat and goes real good on 6s. Pick the right prop and she'll run real nice. Some of the gas guys run real good speeds and they only run 18,000 rpm or so.
You don't want that kind of RPM(8s) on the 56 series motors. There is just too much rotating mass.

These Esc's are for boats. They are water cooled.

The heading reads Flier escs which told me plane escs and not for boats. I see they aren't waterproof or splash proof for that amount of money.

All you have to do is seal the ends of the shrink wrap with silicone and you are done.

BUT the big thing is to make sure your boat is WATER TIGHT and no leaks anywhere,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
