I did a search and while there was great advice on salt water maintenance, my particular question was not answered.
Can you spray fresh water on a brushless motor to remove the salt? Or is that a no-no and you can only use something like WD40?
I ask because after a hairy wipeout there is a light mist of seawater inside my SV27. I want to remove that salt as much as possible instead of just hosing the hull with WD40 (and salt).
So what's the deal? Can we wet brushless motors? And after which, can we shoot some WD into the motor thru a case hole to remove the fresh water?
Any other advice for saltwater maintenance with regards to the motor itself?
Same q's for brushed motors as well for my rescue boat.
Thanks, fellas!
