Any suggestion to re-wrap a rotor?

In making a maintainence inspection on a TP 4092/2200KV motor I noticed some of the wrap on the rotor is freying and maybe 1/2 inch gone. Is there a way and what material could be used to replace the wrap? I also have a TP4092/2600kv motor that I could exchange the rotor with. Would sacrifice the 2600 to keep the 2200. Both D winds. Could there be anything different other than number of poles that would change the KV's?

The rotor change will not effect KV.

The cost of the Carbon Fiber tow and HIGH TEMP epoxy will be more than a new TP.
The windings determin rpm not the rotor as Ray said.

Thanks guys I kind of figured that would be the case. Funny the 4092/2200 TP I bought from FC had wrap on the rotor that looked like coated paper. Probably why it started unraveling. On the 4092/2600 TP the rotor is wound with what appears to be coated black carbon fiber. Definately a better built motor (got it from RCBoatBitz-AU). Quality Control and cheap motors-not!
