    CC/Neu 1515 1Y has excessive rotor endplay - anyone else ?

Put a fresh motor in a boat last week; ran for 2-3 minutes, pulled & greased shaft & put away. While changing prop today I noticed @ 5/32" endplay. The front endbell is closed off so I couldn't see where the front of the shaft goes through or pushes against. I put on a ball bearing thrust washer & the boat ran fine. Just curious if anyone else experienced this with that motor

Yes, they do not shim the rotors nearly as well as the Neu motors. Castle let's rotors magnetically center which is fine for RC car's where no thurst is present. Run the thrust bearing and you will be OK.

Tony, I have a CC1515 2200 I rebuilt lest summer. It now has about 6 to 8 runs on it and it has 1/16th end play in it.

I think these motors weren't built to address the thrust issue like Tyler said. I bought this one when the motors were being dumped on the market as car take-out motors which supports this concept.
