HPI flux tork motors 1Y 2200 kv.

    Anybody run one yet?
I think they are a rebranded Castle 1515 with slightly different cooling fins, will use the HRC 1515 finned cooling can no problem. Fins have the same OD.
I can get them from the LHS for less than a Castle with no shipping.
Anybody know if they are really a Castle?

the street price is far lower than what HPI lists them at, under just 150 at Tower.
The car guys on other forums claim they are Castle....? I'm not interested in the cars so I don't know anything about HPI or any other car products.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

They are rebadged castle motors, I run one in my savage flux and it is a bad boy on 4s and darn near uncontrolable on 6s , im talking triple back flips from a stand still.

Castle does sell their own motors under the HPI name, this from Castle President Patrick del Castillo. But that does not mean the motor the OP is talking about is made by Castle. To me it just looks 'way too much like one of those Castle clones - a Leopard. But who really knows....

I'm sure a Leopard would give triple back flips on 6S too.

I know that I can program the esc with a castle link and the box the motor came in was an hpi box but it also had a castle logo on it.

I dont see how a cooling can could work on that motor since the fins are cerrated and not continuous.

The HRC 1515 cooling can DEFINITELY won't work on the HPI motors.
I'm not sure how you think they would...

Thanks for the info. Came across that motor searching for castle stuff, some claim it's Castle others don't. Probably another motor mystery never to be solved.
The cooling jacket should work fine if you decided to use that motor, I run an oversized 1515 cooler on on a finned 1512. The O rings are not in any grooves and it works absolutely fine! Soon as I notched it for the wire exit that is.
