    Gps speedo app?

Hey everyone, I've read that people have used a GPS APP to do the speed checks on their boats... Theres heaps of "speed" apps using GPS so just wondered which ones come reccomended and record the top speed of the runs?
Just until my cash flow picks up and I can grab a GPS...
    Cheers in advance, Ari.

Ari you can get a try to the skyrc gps (better build than HK one ) and very affordable too..otherwise you can have the forerunner from Garmin my personal choice.Gill

good old zip lock bag and make sure conditions are good so you dont risk a wipeout. I use ulysse as well, works good for a free app.

Ha ha, your signature line says it all. I've already experienced the little risk scenario when the rudder hit a rock under water. I was lucky enough to not loose anything to the lake monster but guess I don't have the guts. LOL

HK got a little GPS unit that is small and measures a lot of speed-related stuff and plugs into a spare port on your Rx. I will try to find the link... Don't risk your phone or Garmin unit in the boat.

Thanks everyone for all of the responses.
Pretty worried about the phone crapping itself in a decent spill too so I might hold off...
Although the sandwich bag with some zip ties might have to do until my finances pick up after this xmas break!

I'll try the ulysse app too as I have an s2 galaxy as well.

I just received my Voltron and it works great! Picked up the sats and my lat/long within 2 minutes. Will check accuracy with my car's satnav later...
