    Hatch tape

Hey guys new here to boating and was wondering where everyone gets their hatch tape from. I just bought some at my LHS and it was $13.99!! Do I need to have a certain type of tape or can I use stuff from like lowes or home depot?

Any advice would be great thanks!

Oh and I have a proboat stiletto if that helps and I have been reading the section for it and still confused on the terms around here lol!

Steve sells it here at OSE. It'a out of stock at the moment but only $2.99 a roll

It is Renfrew hockey tape. If you are stuck for some, your local Ice Skating Rink may have some. That's where I get mine when I'm stuck.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Big 5 sells it. Most of them stock it. It's made by renfew and is called hockey tape. It is hard to find sometimes and good luck asking an associate, they probably won't know what you are talking about. It's 4.99 where I live.

I use black DENSO electrical tape, you can reuse it (great for testing), it does not remove clear coat on my genesis $2.50AU per roll cant recommend it highly enough. When OSE gets some hatch tape in stock I will get some and give it a go.

I use yellow electrical tape from Loews or home depot, that matches my DF Pirate hull. Works great and is inexpensive as well.

I bought some on Amazon, $2.99 for the roll and free shipping. Don't remember if it was "aquacraft" branded or "PB" branded. Bought some grim racer speed grease on Amazon for about the same price, with free shipping, too. Had a couple of gift cards to burn, so I stocked up on "consumables" and parts.

I use some 3M "Magic Tape"
its supposed to be good because well, its sticky and dosent leave residue which means you can use it on photos, but great for boatz!

Exactly what I am doing. Going to return it today and get the other tape everyone suggests. I thought it was a bit crazy for the tape but got it anyways because I didn't know. I will head to big 5 today or order it asap. Just got this boat and want to take it out and don't want to risk anything happening to it

Electrical tape works fine. Most people don't like it cause it's not clear, but I could give a rats ass what the boat looks like when it's kranking by me. It'll get you on the water anyways. I've bought hatch tape before that's made by Uhm.... Well I won't say, but it's crap.
