    Bec ?????????

I have burned up 3 castle creations 10a bec lately and cannot figure out why 2 have melted down and one just quit. This has happened on 2 different boats both running same esc 120a seaking they ran for a minute and quit. Now im not over amping running both on 4s i have checked and rechecked wiring but cannot find a explanation for this. Now i have one that is working fine and im pulling way more amps on that rig than any other it just dont make sense and was wondering if anyone else has had these issues. I have sent them back to castle and they sent me new replacements and installed them and the same thing happenedso i ask can someone give me any advise on this problem thanks in advance.

According to this the SK 120 has a BEC. Have you disabled it?

I've had the same experience with the CC BEC. Three died, two shot full battery voltage to the Rx ; took out two rx's in flames and one servo as well. Guess what I won't ever use again ?

The 120s I hear have a really robust bec. Maybe try without any bec?

Interesting, I'm not sure why the SK's and the Castles wouldn't be playing nice.

If you continue to have problems I'd run a RX pack with that combo or just use the SK bec.

What servo are you using? Have the BEC's gotten wet?

The servo is going to require the same power regardless of which BEC it comes from. What was the difference in load? What voltage do you have the Castle BEC set to?

I saw about 4-7 amp lower and i have them set to 5v because my eagle tree says not to use anything higher than 5.9 volts when using it

I see you have another thread in the Mystic forum. Are the BEC's only frying in the Mystic? Have you burned one without the eagle tree hooked up? Are you using the same receiver?

One more thing to keep in mind, this is from Castle:

                              Peak: 10 amps
                              C
                              ontinuous:
                              <12 volts input = 7 amps*
                              <24 volts input = 5 amps*
*Ratings are determined with a 5mph airflow on the BEC. Servo connectors are not rated for current in excess of 5 amps. Users are encouraged to replace the connectors if more than 5 amp currents are anticipated.
