Not to tacky for a first timer!! Good job and speed was real good. If you can, i would like a picture of the bottom and the strake system. The CG is super close and maybe a touch closer to toward the bow about 1/4" , if that. Now it ran GOOD and glad i made you one happy camper and MADE MY DAY TOO!!!

Southwest,
I will take a pic of the bottom of the boat today. I went to the pond the other day again and removed weight from the front of the boat and can gain more speed as it planes better. But I couldn't set it more because the drive got loose from the motor shaft. And silly me didn't bring any tools. I have to tighten the loose allen screw inside and it's done. Overall for a boat to have fun, I am very pleased. Battery life is good speed is good ( I think actually better than many RTR in simillar size!) Although there isn't water cooling everything gets to the expected temp. Although I will change some things on a next version. I will try to post some 3d model images soon of a modified version with a deeper V and a higher chine line. I think it would improve the boat overall. And use plywood. I think if you don't fiberglass balsa i doesn't last it is amazing the pounding this things take on the water. I know because I already saw one of the sides of the boat crack. I sealed it with some epoxy but next version is going to be sheeted on ply. Again shouthwest thank you so much for all the advice and all the stuff you sent. As you can see on the video the boat works and it's been a joint effort! Like I said before, planes are starting to look boring compared to RC boating!Comment

The allen wrench will take care of set screw which you mentioned, also the coupler takes a 7/16" open end wrench and a open end 3/8" wrench. I wouldn't go much more on the deep vee bottom and go for more CG setup and the strake setup. I have most of my boats with 2 sets of strakes which lift the boat alittle higher off the water and runs flat and can use alittle less horsepower to move them ( boats). When it lifts the boat up alittle, it can cut the water better. Oh yes, chine line, have the chine line slanted alittle further out at the top as it will keep water from splashing onto the top and will help in speed also. Later. Don't let lipo get down to far on juice. Best to time your runs or runtime to 3 minutes and check the heat factor. About it, thanks for video!!!!!!Comment

I have a Mega 22/20/2 KV2875 motor I forgot about. Diameter is 36mm and 38mm long. I thought this would be a nice little motor for the Electrified using a 2S pack. As far as prop is concerned I dunno, the motor is rated at 70A max. Well, maybe it's too small... have to think about it. The instructions indicate a constant current of 30 A, so it may be a bit too small.Comment

JohnZ, there is a guy who has a video with a tppower 2930 3700 motor for sale at $74.00 plus postage and moved a 22" mono real well on 2S =27,430 rpm. I saw you had a Mega also. Mega might be a good motor for a airboat swinging a 7 x 5 prop at 14,700rpm , if airboat isn't over 16" long. Mega motors aren't cheaper when i went searching the 22/20/2 2875kv. The tp from reading specs looked pretty good to me including watercoooling jacket. The Mega price was $107.00.Comment
