Hey Tommy, for your experience level, I think you would do ok with a 550 motor.
a 4.5 550 motor system that has a waterproof ESC would suit you well.

You have several options though. Darin should have a few good suggestions once he knows the size of the rigger.
I'm considering a smaller boat like that one but running a 540 car motor possibly 6-turn.

Until we know the specifics, here's a budget setup from OSE which should give 50s:

The largest 2S pack you can fit in, 30C minimum.

As we learn more this can be refined.

Take a look at my blizzard. Leo 3650 3900kv t120esc. Will fit a sky lipo 3s 40c. I had an x632 but I got one of those CNC 32mm x 1.7 pitch to try next year.

does mid 50s for four minutes.

It can fit 2s 1p due to the boom tubes. I curently own 2s 40c 5000mah turnigy lipos. There about 20 cycles in and still solid and balancing perfectly. So those will be the packs ill run. So what motor and esc should i look at for running 2s 1p.

                  Hi Ray,

Ray Fuller, and Chris fine used to sell them. Nowadays, you're better off with a zipp kits rigger of the same size..
To be honest, I believe these kits are out of Canada where you are..
