Hobby King Customer Service Gets An A+

OK, first off I use OSE pretty much whenever I need stuff - Steven's store is the best on the planet for all things FE. Sometimes, however I'll need something outside the OSE realm so I sometimes reluctantly go to HK. In fact I'm still waiting for a resolution to my HK order of 5.5's which shipped me not the better ones pictured but the lesser ones. Eighteen months later and I theenk they got me on ignore for that issue. BUT just a few weeks ago I ordered two nifty soldering stations which finally came to the U.S. warehouse ( the ones Jason Sims recommended in a past thread). $15.62 - can't beat that for a Haiko knockoff. To save shipping I elected to will-call them at their Lakewood location; Lakewood (CA) is close to where I live. The following day I checked my order and to my horror I realized that it was Lakewood Washington, not the one here in L.A. I contacted HK customer service online and began resolving the situation. We went back and forth several times to allow me to pay shipping from the Lakewood WA location and in every instance I was responded to in less than 24 hours. Every time ! The soldering stations arrived ahead of schedule and mine is really neat (once I discovered what the On/Off switch is for) Now I realize that in this instance the service I was rendered didn't involve an extra expense for HK and may be different than if it was a product warrantee issue, but I think it's only fair to report this instance where HK came through for me and in a very responsive and timely manner. Just sayin'..............

EDIT : I realize that my experience is different from the many previous negative experiences, my own included, with HK posted here in the past. Maybe that's turning around. Who knows ? ...........Time will tell.

I am new here but have used HK for a mainly batteries for my r/c cars and had a issue with one being puffed and they sent me a new one asap. Also I didn't realize that they have a warehouse in Lakewood CA. That isn't far from me either!

They warrantied the Voltron like GPS I bought from them that messed up.

However we are starting a real go around on a mini y hull I just bought. The hatch is warped to hell. They want pictures of the shipping box, which my lovely Mrs threw away... I find it pathetic anytime there is an issue they want to try and put it off on the shippers. I was up front and told them its not a shipping situation as the hull is not broke or cracked, its poor manufacturing and the hatch is warped.

I am patiently awaiting a response.
