    Ammo motor choice

    Hi guys,
I'm looking at buying an Ammo motor but can't decide on which one to get ?
    Setup will be
    Campbell shovel
12 cells later to be 4s.
Which of the these Ammo motors would be best suited
    36-50- 2300 or the 36-56- 2600

    Hi Heath,
I think Tony (properchopper) had a 36 50 2300 running on his Tunnel on 4s...
it had better speeds then the Aquacraft he had in prior. I am sure he'll chime in
after coming back from the pond tonite.
Will this be for heat racing or just for a couple of fast passes?

Either motor will be a good one with nimh but the 36-50-2300 has been more commonly used with good results. I think with either motor you will find that once you switch to lipo's you will be blowing over more often. HaHa If I remember right the Aquacraft motor is about 1900kv.

Yup, ran great until the SV 27 speed control incinerated.
Use a bigger SC for sure !!

I believe the 642 is the standard for that setup...
            have fun!

                Heath,

I think the 2600KV motor is too hot for that setup... You are looking at around 41,600 RPM on that motor, compared to 36,800 on the 2300KV motor with 4S Lipos... The former would work OK for a rigger, but I think it would be a handful in a Sport Hydro...

Also, the 36-50-2300 is rated at a slightly higher constant Amperage than the 2600...

The 36-50-2300 is the motor that Brian Buaas used in his Dark Horse Shovel last year at the Nats to set the new 5/8-mile heat racing record on 4S1P... It's a heck of a motor for the price...

                  Thanks Darin,
The 2300 was going to be my choice because of the higher amp rating.I was just curious to see if any one was using the 2600 and what it was like...
