Removing wooden plywood from boat hull - help needed....

    hi guys,

    total newbie here.
intend to remove the esc / servo / batt tray wooden mounts on my rc boat hull (believed it is a frp hull) but dunno how. intend on reinforcing the hull
    with carbon kevlar cloth.

i managed to remove 1 part of it using sheer force and it came out, was thinking there's probably other ways of doing this
gentler without almost damaging the hull itself.

the adhesive used to bind the wooden plywood to the hull from the factory / manufacturer is kinda sticky but i don't think it
    is epoxy.

any ideas on how to remove it???? tips please:)

would a heat gun do it? & if so how many watts kind etc..........

    thanks.

dremel with a cut off wheel, cut it off a little above the hull and sand back flush

Do NOT use heat, that large an area will ruin the hull.

ok ok thanks for the advice.
otherwise i would simply purchase a heatgun and melted the adhesive / glue.

I've popped out epoxied in mounts using a warmed flexible putty knife, had to heat it up a few times and work it under the mounts but they came out with no damage to the hull or mount.
It wasn't hot enough to melt anything, just enough the soften the glue to work at it.
I took my time, wasn't worried about the mount, didn't want to take a chunk out of the hull. Worked out that I saved the mount as well.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?
