    Turbo Jet 200esc - should I...?

Turbo Jet 200esc, rated to 22.2v and only $50.00 bucks. Anyone try one of these.
How does it run on 5s?

Reading about esc's, and I see "...and yes the red wire is disconnected."
    What does that mean/do?

This is a Suppo design esc. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/TURBOJET-200A...item45fa838c4d

It isn't really up 200 amps at least for any length of time.

You would be much better off getting a Hobbywing 180 from Steve at OSE. At least you have support and a proven quality unit.

There are only a handfull of people that use these successfully for any length of time. I've cooked about 5 or more, stinky.

This is worth the extra money:

Second what Ray has said, seen lots of club members use this esc on fairly mild set ups go up in smoke. Even had one go up in smoke plugging in for the first time to programe the thing, plugged in the battery on a brand new one sizzled followed by the dreaded smoke. Get you self a T180 or Seaking 180.

T180 or Seaking 180? Which is best? Are there Pros and Cons?

Gonna run on 6s - one day.

The Seaking 180 & T 180 are both the same esc, make sure you get the version 3 which has the extra cap bank added (4 extra caps ) besides the 3 original caps.

Dissconecting the red wire disables the bec which some do when using 6s, some also dont & use the bec on 6s. When not using the bec you must use a separate battery supply to the rx & servo or use a ubec connected to the main battery.

I have had 5 seaking escs all worked well. One got wet and fried but user error. Make sure to get the programming card makes setup very easy. I should add anything over 4s run a ubec like martin said.
