My 2 cents are that FE will rule in the future. There are just too many issues with cost, ESC failures to turn arround a nitro fan...plus they sound cool. But i love FE and the huge technology leaps they have made over the last few years.

The races that I have heard about that mixed fe and fuel where kind of out of balance. For instance, with current technology, a P class rigger, (4s or 12 cells), shouldn't be running with .21 riggers. A good match would be a 2s rigger vs .21 rigger. A 4s rigger should be running with .67 - .90 sized boats. This follows pretty close with monos as well. Just my opinion.

the Nitro Vs Electric is also stong in the buggy, truggy and Mt world, I am not welcome in races with my 10s converted Revo...they say they are being true to rules only allowing nitro vehicles but everybody knows the only chance they would have is if I fry my ESC....

I am a big boat gas racer. 48" deep-v with a 26cc promod sikk. I got into it for the size and love that I can race for 40 min. nonstop! I recently got into FE because Ican run my boat just about anyware. People don't care if I throw my FE in the ponds in my subdivision. Its quiet.

While I do feel that FE is the future, I think it will be a LONG, LONG, LOOOOOONNNNGGG time before we see a 40-45 min. run time in a 48" deep-v doing 60+mph!!!! I guesss I could spend $10000 on batts and run them in parallel, but I think I would sink my boat.
