I am looking to buy an FE Mono hull boat around the 30 inch mark or so. I am an intermediate driver and race all kinds of surface R/C's. I am looking for a mono hull boat that I can hone my skills with and then upgrade and race it or even race in as stock FE. I have been researching this for a while and am looking at the Aquacraft Revolt 30 FE. But I want to know what you guys think is the best boat and why as you are more "In the know" than myself about these FE BL boats. Thanks.
Need Help! Looking for the best FE mono boat I can get

Of the RTR monos I've seen raced, the Revolt is the 'best' overall. None are perfect. The Revolt can be upgraded somewhat, but it is limited in speed by hull design, size and hull strength. A crash at 45 mph isn't bad, a crash at 60 may break the hull - same with most RTRs.

Gotta agree with Jay. Overall the Revolt is one of the better RTR offerings. That being said, the best RTR is not going to compare well in performance (handling) and durability if you want to get into racing. I've seen hulls such as the Traxxas Spartan and Aquacraft UL1 break in rough race water. So you can give the Revolt a shot and hope for the best if you decide to race or jump in with both feet and build yourself a boat. If I were on the fence I would probably give the Revolt a shot. If you're up for a rewarding challenge, build a boat. There are plenty of people here to guide you.Mike Chirillo

Being new to FE boats, I vote for building one if budget allows. Considerably more expensive to start. but very rewarding!. My first and so far only is the Delta Force Pirate 35". I have no idea if it is competitive in racing but I thoroughly enjoy running it. There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum, pay attention to the input and you will have a successful build. Steven here at OSE will not steer you wrong and is great to work with as a vendor. Also MarkF with Dynogy has provided a great lower cost high quality solution to battery technology.
Good luck with your choices and welcome aboard!KartRacer ~ Dennis B

That is as nice boat and I wish I could buy it without the astronomical shipping costs involved as I live in Penticton , BC Caanada. Unfortunately, building my own is not within budget, so it looks like I am going to buy The Revolt. I plan on running it basically bone stock, except for a prop upgrade. I plan on running it like that for about the first month or so to get the feel for the boat. I have a lot of high performance surface gear around, such as a brand new Castle/Neu 1515 2200kv (and a lightly used one) and a lot of servo's. The one I think would be the best is the Savox SC 1233 MG, it has a transit time of .07 sec's and plenty of torque. I was planning on running my Spektrum DX3C with a Spektrum MR200 Rx. Has anyone had any issues with the Spektrum marine systems? Thanks for all the help guys. It seems as though I have stumbled upon a wealth of knowledge at the perfect time as I have been telling myself all summer that my X-mas present to myself is going to be an FE boat worthy of upgrading to race.Comment

If your planning on racing leave it stock and try to run a Spec class. Even with a 1515 that hull will get spanked against real 4s race boats. Just not designed for the speed and the hull will self destruct at those speeds, maybe not with the first crash but it will down the road, pretty common with ALL Aquacraft boats that people over power ( you should see how beat up my Motley was at the end of it's first season! Now it's back to stock).
It's built to a price point, great boat as it comes from the factory but you have to accept the limitations of a 400$ all up ready to go boat. A lot of racers have that just into a motor and esc combo.
You would be racing against much better built/designed and bigger boats that can handle the chop of race water.
If you're serious about the racing save your money and build something with a higher quality hull. If you just want a fun boat maybe some spec racing then the Revolt will be fine.
To be honest even in LSO racing most guys use the Aquacraft UL-1 motor and install it in different hull.
A Delta Force 33 with a 1515 1y would be a wicked fast boat! Need very good batteries though! And run 4S2P. There is potential for insanely high amp draw there with a bad setup. PLenty of guys run the 180 amp esc on this setup.

I've bought a number of boats from the States shipping to Canada isn't that bad at all, really not too much more than shipping it in the States. The last one was 37$ shipping for a complete 27" boat.If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

I think "bully", who is my friend, would work with you on shipping if you were interested in his Cyberstorm. Its built strong...i know the builder personally. It would make for a nicer boat over any RTR.Comment
