    Inodize paint in spray cans

    Has anyone tried this paint?
I know its for bikes and metal surfaces to give that bright metal look but was wondering if you spray it over a silver base if it would give the same affect and does anyone know if its compatable with fg hulls that have been primed.
I think it would be cool look.
If no one knows I just might try it on a piece of heavy guage plastic and see what happens.

Yes sorry for spelling, as of yet I have not read any instructions, I just know its for bare metal.

Also wondering if this paint would be flexable.

          what brand?

I believe the stuff I have is Krylon "metal cast". You use a heavy mettalic silver base and its a candy type top coat applied with a second can. I tried it was nto happy at all with the results I got.

I believe it is Krylon, what were your results?
just not what you thought or the paint was not compatable with the boat.
I'm just trying to find a neat color to paint my UL-1 but not red, yellow, or orange, I would like a nice candy blue.
I saw some testors candy blue paint @ LHS but the cans are so small it would take at least three cans of it.
I guess i'll check out auto zone and see what they offer.

Candy colors need to be painted with a solid base color first. They're transparent

                Ive used those small cans.

UL-1 your looking at probably 5 cans of color... Gets expensive real quick.

Yes the metalcast paints I have were a basecoat then the candy top coat. Maybe you will have better luck?

It's two-step if sprayed on anything but reflective metal - I've seen a picture here long ago of a boat done in blue and it really popped. Not really high gloss, but very cool looking. Been meaning to try it but haven't done so yet. Go for it

Candy colors can be tough to do over a different color because they can look blotchy, ex. Blue candy over silver. The easiest way would be to go blue candy over a similar blue basecoat.

I know what it is, but what good is it if he doesn't have spray equiptment?

If you want a good quality professional looking paint job it's the only way to go. You won't get that from a spray bomb.
