As a winter project my father is starting to build a 1/8 scale Shovel nose hydro (Miss Bardahl). Can anyone offer suggestions of what motor to use ? - We were planning on using a Leopard motor (easy to get in the UK & not to expensive) but i dont know what one to go for.

depends on the cells your planning to run 6 , 8 or 10 cells Lipo -
Probably 6 cell Lipo but open to suggestions. I've been searching to see what setup others are using but have not had much luck.Comment

What are your expectations for the boat - speed, run time, type of running? 6S is the cheapest proposition but speed, reliability and run time will be lower. Most run boats this size on 8S or 10S, but for slower speeds 6S has been done. As far as build info....
