    Are my motors fried?

I've been having issues getting my MHZ JBS cat running. I bought this from another member and it has 4082 2200kv Leopards that are black. I have a red 4082 1600kv in another boat and it has very noticeable, firm stops at each pole if you turn the prop. The two leopards in the MHZ have poles you can barely feel, and I can twirl the props with one finger. Are they shot?

Weird!!!!!, Magnets lose their polarity?? Do they spin under power w/o a load??? Could be toast? Maybe dirty? Take a look inside! Good luck and keep us posted. MM

if they are 2 pole motors spinning freely is ok like a feigao does but sounds like you need a chime in from someone who has this exact same motor for that info, never spun one...

I have 2 Leopard 4074 2200kv motors, one red can and one black. They both have the same "cogging" feeling when turned by hand.
Sounds like maybe the motors are demagnetized?

Can you take off a cooler and read the PN on the motor? Could be absolutely nothing wring with it, could be a 2 pole motor which Leopard did make.
One of my buddies runs a Tacon (rebadged Leopard?)2 pole motor, runs good but no cogging when you turn it by hand.
Don't write it off or jump to conclusions until you find out which motor you have. Might be no problems at all.
If it has a LBA part number it's a 2 pole motor, LBP will be 4 pole.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?
