    P Hydro Motor Issue???

I'm running a Nue 1521 1.5D with a Castle Hydra 240. I'm at a loss with what has started occur. the last outing after bringing her in and opening the hatch there was smoke which i thought may have been caused by the corrosionX but temps were high on the motor 145 deg. and speed control in the 165 deg. with batts. at around 117deg. ish. after bench testing smoke is coming from motor. I hooked the castle link to check the setting and re-configured to 0 timing and re-tested and again smoke after a short burst of full throttle. the motor turns freely so not sure if there is a magnet issue?

    any thoughts?

IMO if there is smoke coming from the MOTOR, then it is time to send it in to NUE for repair/replacement.
something is terribly wrong inside that puppy. an ounce of prevention is worth, well, you know,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Have you used oil or grease on the motor?

Send it in, it's probably starting to short out... Like my last one. Go to the neu site and download the motor return form. Tell them when you bought it and they should take care of you. I may know someone with a loaner for December race....

Since it hasn't gone all the way, could you out of interest use a DVM and measure the resistance between the motor leads? If it's starting to short the windings it could be interesting to know what the resistance looks like. I've never had the chance to measure a motor on the way out, and well a black, charred mess is kind of pointless to try and measure.
            Cheers
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I don't have anyway of measuring but will remove and send in for repair. I've only used corrosionX.
Jesse- no receipt as this was the one you sent in with yours that we got back several month back.
