    Bearing for a Leapord 4074 2200kv.

    Hi,

I am looking to buy some bearing to try and repair a Leapord 4074 2200kv,
Any one know where to get them at ?
The bearings numbers are, Thailand NMB R-1650 HH.
The previous owner neglected to clean it and I think it was run in salt waters.
I tried soaking it in PB blaster and cleaning with a brush and compressed air,
I put it back together and used some lite oil on the old bearing,
To try and see if what did helped any.
It sounds a little better at high rpm,
But low rpm it sounds ruff still.

Thanks for any input on the matter.

    Hears some pictures and video.

I've been able to find the right sized bearings for a motor at my local motion industries. As long as you have the correct size you should be able to find them. Check if you have a bearing supply near you.

Wow. Looks like its been dunked... Those stacks should be a nice matte silver color.

Boca bearings should have some with no minimum order. I heard the ceramic bearings are good.

Get your calipers and check the bearing size. I may have noted the bearing size and part number in the leopard Vs Tacon thread here on OSE- post #51

Lenny, make sure you clean off the core and make sure there are no freyed pieces of carbon wrap. If it is freyed it can become unravelled while running.

I've been given some motors by friends to sell for them here on OSE and I always open up the front. You would be suprised how many people just let water sit inside their motors because they run leaky boats etc... "oh its hardly been run" yessss buut, it's hardly been maintained too!!

Buyer beware with used motors. Always buy from a trusted sellers that open up and maintain their equipment. If they won't show you good macro pics of the inside maybe there is rust lurking...???

            Buy a better equivalent.

I think i provided a link to a spec sheet. Note the ID, OD and width and also ABEC class. Then get a decent one from Boca. I would do them both.

Wouldnt hurt to carefully take some emery cloth and clean the laminated stacks some. A good WD40 dip afterwards should help. But it looks beat man. Might be easier cheaper to buy new.

I just replaced the 3 bearings in the 2 T-600 1400KV outrunners I have in my 47" mono using boca bearings and the
feel of the bocas are like night and day compared to what the outrunners came with.

Get some boca bearings. good stuff IMO.

Carl, can you PM me the part numbers for those bearings? I have a few of those motors too.

                Thanks!

This is whats on both the bearing, Thailand NMB R-1650 HH.
                  The size is 16.00mm x 5.00mm X 5.00mm Bore.

                        Hey Ray,
On the core it is frayed a little in a grove that gos from top to bottom,
It is in the pictures I just posted.
I am waiting for a price back from them.

Depending on which way it unravells you could be o.k. The motor spins CCWise so if the frey looks like it will unravel rotating that way it may need to be fixed. If it's the opposite way it doesn't matter, it would just flap around and do nothing.
It's hard to see. How long are the fibers sticking out?

They are going clock wise and are 1.30mm long,
How would I fix this if I had to ?
                            Epoxy it ?
