It all depends on which wind motor you are getting but Steve sells a 100 amp opto controller right here for under $80. That is your best bet unless you want some foreign job that takes weeks to get it in your hands. Also Steve has great customer service. It's called the x-power esc, there is both a 70 and 100. Hope this helps.

Winds determine the kv's of the motor. Depending on what type of boat you are using the motor for and batteries you plan to use. You'll see if you look into the motors more that you'd probably want something like the 10xl or more for that size of a boat on 4s lipo or 12 nimh. Give me some details and I'm sure I can help you out.

it also has the potential to blaze right through your wallet. what sort of voltage were you planning on running?

hmmm 36", yes? big boat. my personal feeling is that a 540 9xl on 12cells(14v) would work better.

                        rethink you setup maybe.

                        maybe a 12xl on 5-6s with a hydra 240.

A 6xl motor is hot for any setup, with it you would have to use such a small prop that your boat wouldn't move at all. Try a 10xl and a 42-45 prop on the back with that 100amp esc I mentioned earlier. Also just use 12 cells or a 4s lipo. I'm sure some others will chime in, hell you could even use the supervee motor with those same props to get it to move out.

The guys are pointing you in the correct direction. 6xl will burn up a 240mp esc in that size boat. If you really want to compete with some nitro guys, I would suggest a new hull with the correct hardware. Otherwise you will be dropping a bunch of cash into something thats not made to run 40-50mph.

Also, that 100amp Xpower should only be used in applications running 70-80% of the rating, or it will
