Maybe I just got a lemon then, which can happen. Im going to try the 4082 2200kv in my Pursuit and hope for the best. if not I got a replacement for that one.

Now I need to fund another motor for my rigger since the TP isnt cutting the mustard... Only the cheese.

        could be??
if it was me and because how well my TP Power motors run, I would check the bullet connectors on the motor, and change the timing on the esc

and talking about rigger motor... I do have a TP 4092 2600kv that would be nuts in my JAE!

The motor is a 'D' wind & only wants 1 - 3 degrees timing (same with the 4082 2200kv motor) If it was running with a high timing, it would loose a few revs for sure. And run hotter.
I forgot to change the timing on an ESC from 15 degrees for an 8xl motor, down to 1 degree for the TP Power motor when I swapped them & the boat ran slower & with more heat than it should of. My mistake was pointed out to me by a fellow boater. The timing was adjusted & the next run was perfect.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

I believe it got changed to 0 degrees or maybe the next step up 3.

Im just going to replace it with a Neu 1415 and let her rip.

This is good stuff! I shure like the way the 94" boat jumped out of the water! To make a boat this size move like that, it takes a lot of motor as well as big esc's and Lipos. Regaurdless of cost the tp5850 seems to the job nicely. I personly run motors that Hor racing sells and I'm pretty shure they are made by TP Power. I can tell you this. They run like crazy. I find that they run cool as well. I run my Zonda that I made some changes to the pair of 180 esc's and notched the lip of the boat cabin so that I can fit the 6s nano 65-130c lipos over the drive shafts. I stuff stiff foam around the batteries to holed them in place. these boats come with 3674 motors and they are very impressive. The boats are a steal at 550.00. I also run a SSS5694 that is very powerfull and will be getting more to do a 60" cat build. I plan on running it on 8s. This will keep the boat build well under 2000.00 because I have the batteries already that I run in my 1/5 scale buggies
