    Another Dumas Scarab outta retirement.

Well I went to the LHS(RCPitstop) to get a couple of pieces of brass for the Komodo and...well...
    I finally couldn't say no

So what to power a 45" Scarab with?
BTW What is on that tag is nowhere near what was paid for it.But Wes will be glad to see it hit the water.

It does just so happen that I have a pair of those and a pair of Swordy 200"s here right now Carl.Hehehe,hehe.
And of course the TP 950 kv's and FC controller but I should save those for the return of the Shocker.

What size props are you running comfortably on that then Carl? I am currently building the KOMODO and did leave room for the T-600's in her too.But planning on my Castle 3434 outrunners in it to start. I was kinda leaning 2028 on this one.
Just easy and I wouldn't need much for it.

That Scarab is awesome. The paint is magical lol. Seriously I love it. Also love the custom windshield, which brings me to my question. I am presuming that is homemade. How would you keep water out if you go brushless? I have a mint condition Dumas Scarab 55", although the canopy looks to be cut right at the bottom of the back seat and is missing the front half. I do have the fiberglass spoiler that needs attached, the boat is only primed white at the moment. Really want to go brushless, but how can I seal up the top? I have searched and searched to buy an original, complete top for it, but to no avail (obviously since it's about exactly as old as I am). Any input would be awesome. Also, the price on those Gizmo gas motors is quite enticing, really would love for it to rumble while idling....hmmm....

Thanks for the compliments Rhiz,The windshield is homemade and I'm not sure what I'm going to do for the interior.Maybe me mum can sew me some cushions, hehe.I did a good interior for my trail truck so shouldn't be so bad with this big thing.I do have a buddy with a vacuum former for lexan bodies so that may be a start for the tub.
I have to finish my Komodo first anyway.

Very cool man. I did an interior on my scaler too. Just gives it a nice touch. On the boat would be even better being all open. Must be nice to have a buddy with a lexan vacuum former! I would pay if someone could make me one for my boat, so if you end up feeling frisky, let me know! Good luck with the Komodo. Can't wait to see it.

That windshield kicda makes it look about a 20ft scale, doesn't it.I'm not sure what it is on the hull with either.

Yeah I agree, but still an great design. Be great if you could just take some height off of it. Cut it in half or 2/3 down and it would be more scale. I am going to try twin HK Osprey drive setups in my 55. Motors should be easy enough to pick. I don't think with these monsters I would have much to worry about with water getting in the hull if I made a windshield like yours.

I am leaning toward a 2028 or maybe one of Keith's Proteus' motors.
