OK,,,finally. Here is the vid. its of the first part of the run, never went beyond 1/2 throttle as it was blowing steady 20 Mph and gusting to almost 40 with about 5-6 inches of chop
Oh yeah, and it was only 8 Deg C up here, about 45 F so it was cold.
A few passes to make sure all water cooling was flowing I gave it a few half throttle bursts and it went like crazy!. The boat seemed nicely balanced. Just after the vid, I bought it in and all was nice and cool.
Sent it out and after a two more laps, it stopped
It drifted to shore in about 2 minutes thanks to the wind. I pulled off the cowling and everything still nice and cool. The motor struggled to turn over, almost as though it was fried, but given the temps,,, it should not have been the problem. After a few more freezing minutes, I decided to call it a day.
At home it had the same problem,,,,I dried everything out and noticed some water in the Hydra. Castle says they are water resistant but I suppose not waterproof. I'll have to talk to Castle about methods for better waterproofing. I mounted the controller so it is in the direct path of the cowling intake to add some air cooling as well. Anyway, after a few hours of drying, the motor is turning over again like nothing happened so all seems to be good! (now if I can just program it!!)
More vid to come the next time I go out!
