    Alert, stolen items

Hey guys my LHS was broken into last night. The theif made out with a losi 5t and a 4 wheel sc roller. I know some of you guys are active in the car forums and ebay so if you happen to see someone trying to sell them please shoot me a pm and a link ASAP. Lets bring this guy to justice. The owner has always done his best to take care of me and it sucks to see him lose out on a nice chunk of inventory change, not to mention the broken window.

Me too, someone that wanted but couldn't afford one. A pro thief would have taken digital servos and/or 2.4 receivers and got WAY more money for what they could carry out.

Hobby grade boats and planes stolen from houses lakes and fields are generally identifyable and recoverable as we all build slightly differently, but pretty much all cars are RTRs identical to thousands of others so you have pretty much no hope of getting them back, as even if the guy next door to the shop had it in a yard sale the next day there would be no way to prove it came from the shop.

It is unfortunate that there are SOBs like these out there, but all you can really do is hope the police are interested and hope the criminal/s left evidence at the scene. Bump up security to make it harder to happen again. Preventing ingress is better than CCTV though more expensive too. Any CCTV needs to be mounted low not on the ceiling looking down as ne'er-do-wells all wear caps and/or hoods these days so a camera looking down will not often get a face for later prosecution, just a description of the clothing for a search of the immediate area if it gets seen quick enough. Cameras also need there own light source as ambient light often comes from above and a cap/hood will cast the face in shadow even if a low camera gets the face it may be badly underexposed if ambient light is relied on.

        Where in CA?

It has become very common. Here in SF Bay area, we had 2 back to back break ins last year. One in Tracy, CA and one in Concord, CA. Not even sure either is around any more....

The high desert. I'm sure it wasn't a pro per say cause I agree, he would have left with more then a couple thousand in inventory. I also understand recovery is slim but I figured the more exposure the better. Most people are selling used items not NIB. Cctv was in use but I'm not sure what the footage looks like, I'm sure he will be installing bars as soon as he can.

          Thanks for looking
