Having a tough time finding a good article to exsplain brushless motors and sizing. I would love to learn more about how the a 2030kv might better in some applications than a 1515 and what the heck is the differnce between a 1D or a 1Y ect. I am really trying to gear up for my first build (JAE 21)but I really wanna understand what I'm looking at before I just order parts. It takes some of the fun out of it if you just have someone else tell you what to buy without a clue of what your doing. Plus Id like to be able to help others in my newly formed club enjoy the hobby. I live in Wyoming so my local resorces are VERY limited.

Switch,
Your best assest here is the search function. For example search "delta verus Wye" and you will find several pages worth of articles. Wikipedia also has a good explanation of the difference between Delta and Wye winds. There are also several build of JAE riggers with the Aquacraft UL-1 motor for P-Spec rigger racing.

Make sure you download the rule book too if you haven't gotten you copy in the mail. You want to make sure you are building a legal boat for the class you want to enter. Noticed u mentioned a 2030 kv aquacraft motor and 1515 ( castle motor I'm guessing) 1y/ 3.5d and they are used in different classes.Comment
