What should I use inside hull on transom to add support for bolting rudder, strut, ect? Plywood? What thickness. Thanks!!

What size and type of boat?
Plywood works just make sure you seal it with epoxy prior to fixing it to the transom.
Can also use some fiberglass or carbon Kevlar glass to add strength to the area.

I always use 3/32" birch ply, but just about anything would (wood?) work. Coat with epoxy. One thing to be carefull with is overtightening your hardware - the ply reinforcing piece, at least in my experience, will rarely perfectly flush up to the inside of the hull so when tightening the hardware, the hull moves inward and can crack.

just did this today starting a new build

Thanks for the responses. Where did you buy the carbon fiber?
