    DF Pirate first run questions.

the boat ran well and was dry inside. Ran one minute and checked temps, all were low, mid 80 to 100.
I removed the data logger and pulled the file, not sure if it is what i should expect but the rpm were lower than expected 17000 max. battery voltages were even with very little fluctuation. I did not get a amp report as I think i pulled the connector when I stuffed the logger in the pool noodle. Ran two runs with the only higher temps recorded with the temp gun at one of the motor connectors , 125f I think that connector fits looser than the others. Ill probably change it out.

If the RPM is only 17000 then the amps would seem like they should have been high and therefore hot. So I am not sure if 17000 loaded is ok or if it should be much higher which would mean that the radio was not going full throttle.
Also did not see any water spray from the exit ports, can the lines be hooked up incorrectly?
I blew through the exit ports and they are feeding the rudder.
overall a very successful first 1 minute then two minute runs just before dark.
This weekend I should give it a good workout.

    Observations and input encouraged.

What motor kv and how many volts/cells???

If your Datalogger is set for the wrong number of motor poles, it will be way off.

I'm gonna be real close saying that your loaded rpms are in the 28,000 -30,000 range. The 17k is just plain wrong............way off.

Do you think the speed looks correct in the video for 28 to 30 thousand Rpm.
Where should I check to get correct readings. I should have amps on next run, which should help.

                    This one from Steve!

                    CNC 4514 Magnalium 7075 propeller.

Machine cut to high tolerances makes this prop ready to use right out of the box. The Magnalium 7075 alloy makes this material upwards of 30% stronger than standard 7075 aluminum.

Left hand rotation. These spin counter clockwise when looking at them from the back of the boat.

Fits 3/16"(.187" 4.76mm) Smooth Bore Propeller Shafts.

Nice first run Kart.Runs smooth.I'd put the RPM's way more than 17000 as well.Haven't totally figured out my ET either so not sure what would be up with that. But 17,000rpm would be half of what it probably should be.

DF Pirate first one minute and the two minute run.
OK checked the data again this evening and found that I had not gone far enough into the download. The max RPM was 38000 +- and the amps were 132 max. can't remember what the wattage said but was not excessive.
Now I feel better that I am getting correct info. Going to run it again on Sunday. Should easily go four minutes.

Big time ooops today, on third run!

                          Bummer today! Tested flotation
Hit underwater rock, lost prop & drive. Rudder broke plastic sheer bolt and hull filled with water by the time I recovered with my troller boat.
Pulled everything apart and sprayed down with water displacer, then blew out with air. Drying out now. Have no idea what may still be alive when it dries out. Scuffed gel coat on the bottom but should be easy to fill and paint.
But sure was a blast until it hit the rock.
Guess when I get it back together I'll stay away from the damn.
