In all seriousness, its not really quite 100% true. Even though I'm shipping from a large City Mail center, all the priority mail packages head north to the Priority Mail center in New Hampshire before being sent to their destination cities.
Also how the heck did you figure that out ?

once made a comment about the disparity in shipping times at my local post office during a slack time...and the clerk explained how the system works. If I were to ship something to steve it would 1st leave oregon>madison>milwaukee(min 1-2days) then off to boston(nother day), finally sent out to steven(4days). since steven ships near a center... that shaves 1 day travel time that or it must be bunnys

there are some things one can do to speed things up(somewhat)...but I'll leave those for the reader to figure out(gotta leave some things a mystery )

I agree. I live about 40 miles from Bostonia and I try to order all my stuff from OSE. It takes two days every time.
