If you are using this for Sport/fun boating but still want speed consider this 8s setup:

    Leopard 5692 4D or 2Y - http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...o-5692&cat=148

Swordfish 240 ESC (out of stock at the moment, heck, almost every ESC he carries here is out of stock)
    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...sword-pro240hv

    Prop: Octura x455-x457..................

Four 4s Lipos will be needed to make an 8s2p setup
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

Asked a similar question not long ago. Here is what others thought.

                    http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...udget-possible

Decided to go with a 1527, not enough of a price difference in the scheme of building a big boat to go with a lesser (but still very good quality) priced Leopard motor.
It will be my first high voltage boat, completely new territory for me. Everything else has been 4s setups.
LOL don't want to take out a 300$ esc and 300+$ worth of batteries trying to save 70$ on a motor.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?
