I'm looking to spring for a 21FE outrigger . I know the JAE21FE is out there and highly regarded ? Are there any other's . Would like pre built if possible ? Suggestions for motor and running gear for 4s lipo power.

I'll make the shamless plug here for the Raptor Riggers: Brian Buass designed and built the Raptor Rigger around P-Spec power systems using a single 4S pack. You can swap out the P-spec motor for a P motor such as a Castle 1415 1Y which fits nicely in its place. Even with a P-Spec system the combo runs in the low 60's with a very conservative prop. Use a more aggresive prop and higher speeds are easily attained. The hulls construction is vacuum bagged fiberglass with the option of full carbon. It uses standard Speedmaster hardware on the transom and comes with a turnfin and bracket.

Very nice clean design that runs exceptionally well. In my humble opinion, it takes a lot more work to get the same performance from a JAE.

Here are a couple pics of Raptor Riggers:

I guess the more pics I post, the more boats to sell.....

Here is the rigger in the hands of Brian setting the first sub 20 second FE 2-lap record: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QguZfASDE8I&feature=plcp

Here is the same hull with a P-Spec motor instead of P: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hfKewhkvLg&feature=plcp

Regardless, they are a vital part of the hull's design. It will not run like the videos show without the rear sponsons. They don't slow the boat down for SAW runs either.

Does the 2 rear sponsons have less drag as i understand they both ride just off the water, compared with the single ski that the JAE use which i take it runs on the water all the time. Martin.
