I would go with a 1/4 inch stuffing tube with no liner and a 3/16 (.187) flex. I to changed mine out to run a .150 flex and no I have 2 props at the bottom of the lake. Go with the 3/16 and forget about have fun.

I still go with a .187, 3/16ths. I have a .72 piano wire and prop at the bottom of the pond. Twisted the wire off at the collect.

Yes and I also have a .187 flex and prop at the bottom of the lake . It can happen . When you run a piano wire setup don't run Teflon liners and gentile bends . Otherwise you will build up excessive heat and something will break . I don't run teflon liners , Just use a 1/4 in. brass tubing for your .187 flex shaft , and grease it up good .

I need help here too, I have drives that re to be used with 1/4" drive cable. I plan on using hughey 1/4 but I don't know if I should just use tube/no liner, or tube/Teflon. Also I want to use thrust bearings . Last thing how much gap should be placed between the bearings or drive dog and stinger end? Please help
That odd moment when you think, "Is RTR the way to go?" Then you see your hard work, and laugh at the thought.
