    Yes another JAE thread :)

    Hi,

Im an Aussie which lives in Fiji as an expat, im a rather lucky sod who has a nice canal running in his backyard, its salt water.

Anyhow I cannot go fishing for marlin every weekend, and what not. There are limited things in fiji, no hobby stores or anything as such.

I miss running my RC toys at home, and i dont plan on bringing them here, my nitro truggies and boats will have to stay there, even if i did bring them here i wouldnt have a source of Nitro... I have a nice gas cat, but at 120cm long it will be a logistical nightmare to bring here.

For a long time ive been wondering about going electric so im thinking about building a couple of boats to keep myself amused on those rainy days / boring times when the wife isnt around.

Anyhow I would like to build a JAE 21..

But i have little knowledge about electics apart from my Helecopter, which i really know nothing about.

So the questions bearing in mind im basing my thoughts on what little research i have done.

    Leo 3674 2200kv
    200amp Swordfish ESC
    Haiyan 5s 65C 5500mah
    Start with H5-H7 Prop.

all the usual stuff i have already, DX3R radios / top servos, good lipo charger and so on.

I plan on running it my canal in my backyard, lol if im right, the above will make the rigger rather fast. in the 70mph bracket, and i would hope to be relaible.

Are there any pointers on running such a setup, like what size flex so i dont snap them every 5 min etc. Would the batteries not explode, lol and only last 30 seconds.

3/16" cable and that should be a very fast reliable setup.
1 minute run at first and check for heat.

I run the same setup with a t180, I'm in the mid sixties with prop work and good run times. My boat isn't built for competition just fun so it's heavy and durable with alot of paint. If it was competition ready I'm sure 70 would be no problem with good prop work. But that's a lot of tuning to get there. Racers are deep in the 60's with the ul1 setup so testing is king.
