Need to clean inside of hull after esc melt down?

Hi all a while back the esc in my mono had a melt down . The hull is birch ply with the inside sealed in West systems epoxy. Which cleaner should i use to remove the black goo inside the hull and to get rid off that burnt smell? Regards Andris Golts.

Denatured alcohol. Trust me, it works wonders.

Aceton or Isopropylalcohol. Always worked well for me.

Once you get the black off, you will probably still have the 'odor'. Some people actually like this odor, which is beyond me. Anyhow, I dumped 2 boxes of baking soda in mine and let it sit in the garage for 2 weeks (shaking it every so often). Worked wonders.

MMMMMM.......nomnomnom. I usually scrape out the debris and roll it in like a filthy animal. That's just me though.

Know what that smell is?............the edge.

                      Aceton or Isopropylalcohol....
Bad idea on the acetone. Acetone can/will dissolve epoxy - meaning that an epoxy/glass hull can be softened, or motor mounts and servos glued in with epoxy may come loose if exposed for too long to the solvent. Alcohol is much safer and removes most all of the smell too. Hint: use a toothbrush on the textured inner surface of fiberglass hulls to get out the black goo remaining in the glass weave.

Can you imagine what that guy smells like when he gets home? I always packed them in a ziplock so they didn't have to smell em too...........after I finished making tea from the remains of course.

If your on the drivers stand and you smell something burnt but don't see anything burning...............it's me.

Ditto on this and afterwaRDS I used a Norwex solution that took all smell out.

Oven cleaner gets crap out, use a cheap baby bottle brush for nooks & crannies..
