Sure, as long as the water is fresh and you thoroughly clean and sand the hull before trying to paint it. Be especially careful to clean where the tape was around the hatch - poor paint adhesion here means you'll pull off the paint when you pull off the tape.

yup, just make sure to clean it and scuff it lightly before paint.most hulls come primed so as long as it doesnt crack or get a large stress fracture you are ok.I have done it a few times then used a solvent to clean like alcohol based stuff etc. Some I have seen do it to make sure the hull runs right and make sure hardware is in right spot just in case hardware has to be redrilled or such, then its easier to fill sand then paint.I dont put too much worry on paint only because one stuff of a hull in racewater may cause spidercracks in paint then u will cry lol.Id rather have a better runnin boat than a shelf queen too hehe.Comment
