Outside temps make a big difference

I run a pursuit with a turnigy 4074-2000kv motor and T-180 esc, 6mm connectors on motor and batteries and during the the summer I have been using an x642, the motor and esc have been pretty cool but the bat connectors have been pretty hot but ok so I decided to try an m445 and she loved it but the connectors were very hot (packs are zippy 7.4v x2 is series 60c) this was when we had temps if 23deg in the UK it's 9deg today and everything runs well within temps I like. Supprising what a differents it makes.

hmmm did you make the connectors yourself ?
Ive got pretty much the same setup but with 2 4S packs either side, and found that
    1. the timing on the motor made it hotter, eg. 15 degree timing made motor hot, yet couldnt tell any differnce in speed.
    2. I got better at soldering and im running 5.5mm bullet plugs and found they arnt that hot. maybe its because your running batteries in series?

Meant to say that it was EC5's that I used in the summer and then went over to hobbyking 6mm connectors shortly after. My timing is set to 15 but even dropping it to 11 didn't seem to make any difference. She ran great today though, she likes the M445. Batteries in series is 2 7.4v packs either side.
