    NIMH Batteries. HELP!

Hello. I recently purchased some Powerizer 4200mah nickel metal cells from batteryspace.com. Upon recieving them, I checked each cell with a volt meter to match them up before building packs. Out of 42 cells, 12 of them read 0 volts, one at .09 volts and one at .59 volts. The other 28 cells were anywhere from .71 - .82 volts. I thought that even dead cells should give some type of a reading, but not zero! This worries me. What should the cells be reading? Is 0 volts going to be a problem? Anyone?

I've never been able to revive a nimh cell reading zero volts. Those cells are beyond saving in my opinion. It is also my understanding that a cell reading below .9 volts may have permanently lost capacity.

Don't waste your time. I would call them and make arrangements to send them back.
The cells should read 1.2v/ cell, don't bother with cells that read below .9V
